Benefits of Loupes
Our loupes provide immediate benefits to the user.
Dental loupes allow you to see a more detailed working site, at an increased magnification. This improved visibility allows you to identify critical details such as a small carious lesion, which may be missed with the naked eye.
In the images to the right, both magnifications offer a clear improvement.
Dentists experience a greater amount of neck and back pain than any other profession - with around 70% reporting musculoskeletal pain.
Poor vision and insufficient lighting when performing dental treatment often results in poor operator posture. The use of loupes has been shown to decrease neck and lower back pain, allowing you to maintain a healthier posture.
High levels of concentration can also be tiring for the eyes, contributing to sore eyes at the end of the day.
Evidence suggests that it is beneficial to start using dental loupes in training as a student to develop good postural habits.
The prevalence of neck pain in dentists is around 70%
